Venue(s):

Sylvan Beach Union Chapel
Park Ave
Sylvan Beach, NY 13157

Services: In 1887 the Spencer family donated the land for the construction of the first church to be built in Sylvan Beach known as the Union Chapel.  Construction of the Chapel commenced in May of 1887 and the first church service was held July 10, 1887 and over the year’s services were offered by many different Ministers.  In 1968 the chapel was the site for scenes from the move “The Sterile Cuckoo” starring Liza Minnelli.  The Union Chapel recently became recognized on the New York State Historical Register and the National Historical Register.  Over the past several years the number of wedding ceremonies held at the Union Chapel have increased tremendously.  Today the Union Chapel continues to offer non-denominational services provided by many different Ministers from various areas around NY State, Florida and Chicago.  Services are held during the summer season beginning late June through early September every Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
