Pirate’s Weekend will be expanding and getting even bigger! Join us July 2018 for this Pirate’s Weekend in Sylvan Beach. The weekend will be filled with activities and events for people of all ages. Check out the list of events, and make sure to join us for the Pirate’s Parade on Saturday! Each day of Pirate’s Weekend brings activities for friends, family and neighbors alike! Check out what’s going on each day and make sure to check back for more to be added! Pirate’s Weekend will feature our famous Pirate pub crawl, beach treasure hunts, live music, bonfire, sand castle building contest, and Miller Lite recovery specials! You won’t want to miss the adventure; so bring your best pirate spirit (voice, costume, and peg leg optional) for this community-wide event that brings people, and pirates, to Sylvan Beach! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Grab yer pirate hat and decorate ‘yerself for the 5th annual Pirate’s Weekend 5K event, July 2018. Enjoy a 3.2-mile run/walk through the beautiful village of Sylvan Beach. This is a pirate’s party race for the entire family, therefore, strollers and dogs are welcome! The race will begin on Sunset Boulevard behind The Super Slide There will be free parking for participants as well as bathrooms available. The first 150 pre-registered participants will receive a free t-shirt. Aside from the fun stuff, your participation supports a great cause. Proceeds from the Pirate 5K Rum Runner benefit Sitrin’s Military Rehabilitation Program.
Thursday, July 19 5:30pm – Pirate invasion in the park. Pirate flags displayed in village. The Mayor will officially sanction Pirate’s weekend by raising the pirate flag at the Bandstand. Enjoy Pirate Activities throughout the village at local businesses. 5:45pm – Pirate kidnapping of local celebrity and held for ransom! Captured are taken to many businesses to obtain ransom for release. All proceeds will benefit local organization
Friday, July 20 10:00am – Crafters, Antiques, Vendors throughout the Village 7:00pm – Best of the beach pirate’s Grog Competition! Participating establishments will have available signature pirates grog for sampling. Various entertainment venues at local businesses.
Saturday, July 21st – Family Fun Day 10:00am – Crafters, Antique Vendors throughout the Village. 10:00am – Pirate’s Booty Treasure Hunt on the beach @ 15th Ave, dig for buried gold coins and redeem for a toy at the “treasure chest.” 10:00am – 4:00pm – Jump ‘n Play All Day- Bounce Houses with water slides-Cinderella’s Lot 12:00pm – “How to be a pirate” class hosted by Captain Jack @ the bandstand- Village Green 1:00pm – 5th Annual “Pirate’s Parade” begins south of the village and moves north. 2:00pm – 3:00pm – Discovering buried treasure on the beach at 13 Ave. Sponsored by Earth Metal Detecting Club. This is metal detecting for all ages. 8:30pm – Family Bonfire on the beach @ 15th Ave 9:30pm – Pirate Fireworks on the beach- Sponsored by Sylvan Beach Amusement Park.
