Riley Dixon plays in front of hometown crowd at New Era Field
Oneida Native Riley Dixon, punter for the Denver Broncos, came to New Era Field in Orchard Park for an early season AFC matchup. Two busloads of friends, family, and fans took the trip out to Western New York to see the Christian Brothers Academy and Syracuse University graduate take to the field. Over one hundred people packed the buses as countless others drove out to the game to show their support and see what turned out to be one of the most exciting games of the young NFL season.
Dixon’s stepmother Tara, sister Brecklyn, and father Tom all made the trip out. On top of seeing Dixon and the Broncos (2-1) take on the Buffalo Bills (2-1) those who made it out also got to meet Dixon as he took photos with fans and signed shirts and hats. For everyone who traveled to Orchard Park or watched the game on television, it was a treat to see the Oneida native back in the state and playing well. Dixon had a historic rookie season and it’s a certainty his family and friends back home in CNY are all looking forward to him continuing to build on that throughout the rest of the season!
