Supply Drive For Local Homeless Children

On Sunday, December 3rd, Rise Above Poverty will be holding a supply drive to benefit local homeless children. The event will be held at the Sylvan Beach Fire Department from 11 am to 1 pm.

8% of the students at the Danforth Middle School in Syracuse are homeless, which equates to around 32 students per grade. These children need your help this holiday season; the supply drive will be collecting basic supplies and goods for boys and girls ages 11-14.

This is NOT a drive for toys, this is a drive for basic necessities, things which no person (especially a child) should ever go without.

Essential Needs include:

  • socks
  • underwear
  • shirts (sizes M-XL especially)
  • sweatshirts
  • sweatpants (sizes M-XL especially)
  • hoodies
  • coats
  • hats
  • gloves
  • toothbrushes
  • hairbrushes

The Rise Against Poverty movement was started to provide basic needs to children in the area, and is run by very capable individuals. Please join us this Sunday to help children in need!
