As the summer comes to an end, the Summer Concert Series at Sylvan Beach reaches its grand finale. It has been another year of great performances, with genres spanning from Polka to Rock & Roll to Alternative String Quartets. This year’s series of performers exhibited the level of talent and energy in the CNY music scene—providing the community with entertainment and memories that can hold them over until next year’s slate of acts.
Another Summer of Great Music
Every Wednesday night, from 7pm to 9pm people came together to enjoy great music while taking in everything that Sylvan Beach had to offer. People came from near and far and enjoyed the likes of Fritz’s Polka Band, Gary Johnson, Fulton Chain Gang, and will finish their summer with Opus Black String Quartet.
Opus Black String Quartet is a unique sampling of Central New York culture. They are a group of women from Vernon, NY. They look like a classic string quartet, but play covers of songs from Led Zeppelin to the Beatles and beyond. Much like their well-known contemporaries Vitamin String Quartet, Opus Black puts a classic twist on modern pop-rock and alternative hits.
It’s a great way to close out this year’s free concerts, so come out August 23rd to Sylvan Beach and enjoy some of the best sights and sounds of Central New York.
